Consultation is open for the Draft Aerotropolis Stormwater Framework

Sydney Water has developed a draft Aerotropolis Stormwater Catchment Framework and a draft Scheme Plan for Mamre Road precinct.

The Framework and Scheme Plan are both draft, and open to feedback from stakeholders, landowners and the development industry until Sunday 24 July 2022.

The Framework proposes guiding principles for Sydney Water, in partnership with local councils, Department of Planning and Environment, and developers to manage trunk drainage in the Aerotropolis and Mamre Road precincts.

The proposed Framework has three components:

Draft principles to guide development decisions and stormwater planning
Proposed governance for management and delivery of stormwater assets
Draft stormwater planning approvals pathway

Also available is the draft Stormwater Catchment Scheme Plan for the Mamre Road Precinct as an example of how the principles will be applied to a particular catchment.

Consultation period

Feedback from the development industry and landowners will help us refine the approach to managing drainage in the Aerotropolis, as detailed in the Framework.

The proposed Aerotropolis Stormwater Management Framework and draft Stormwater Catchment Scheme Plan for the Mamre Road Precinct will be on display on Sydney Water Talk until Sunday 24 July 2022. We welcome your feedback during this time.

Information sessions

Developers were invited to a briefing to understand more about the proposed Framework and draft Scheme Plan for Mamre Road. The briefing was held online on Friday 10 June 2022, from 10am to 11.30am. A recording of the briefing session is available here.

Landowners were invited to an in-person community information session that was held at Bringelly Community Centre 5 Greendale Road, Bringelly on Saturday 25 June from 10am to 11.30am.

While we are still in the early stages, we are making progress towards providing more clarity for landowners. Information around land acquisition, however, will not be available until early 2024.
