We surveyed local businesses in October 2022 to understand their operating hours, deliveries, parking arrangements. We’ll use this information to schedule our work and plan ahead to avoid working in front of businesses that are still open past 8 pm, when our night work starts. 

Residents and businesses were  invited to give feedback on our proposed night work schedule in November 2022 (four nights a week from Monday to Thursday nights vs. three or five nights). Based on the feedback received, most of the work will be done using this proposed night work schedule.

We carried out investigations between November 2022 and April 2023 to confirm where our pipes and other services are below the ground and the ground conditions. This information was used to help us plan for the work and save time when we begin construction. We know from the investigations that we will have some technical challenges to navigate, including soft, sandy ground conditions, a high groundwater table and other buried services when working near Woolworths Metro.

Following feedback from residents and businesses, and in consultation with Northern Beaches Council, we’ve planned this work to start in March 2025, to avoid working over the peak summer season. We’ll also do a mix of day work and night work hours to balance the needs of neighbours, pedestrians, and businesses.
