Upcoming extended work hours for micro-tunnelling under Elizabeth Drive, Kemps Creek

Sydney Water will soon instal two wastewater pipes under Elizabeth Drive, Kemps Creek from Monday 11 November 2024.

This activity will see our delivery partner, Quickway, use two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) to bore through soil and rock while simultaneously installing the 650-millimeter diameter pipes behind it. The TBMs will be operating from 1383-1411 Elizabeth Drive and 150 Cross Street, Kemps Creek.

Following community consultation, Sydney Water submitted a proposal to the Environmental Protection Authority to extend our weekday and Saturday work hours to minimise the overall duration of impact to surrounding residents. We are pleased to announce this proposal was approved.

Starting Monday 11 November 2024, our weekday work hours will be 7 am to 8:30 pm and Saturday work hours 8 am to 6 pm, until late March 2025, weather permitting. There will be no work on Sundays and or public holidays.
