Work Hours

    Our works hours are:

    • 7 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday
    • 8 am to 1 pm Saturday.

No work is planned for Sunday or Public Holidays

Approved out of hours work is required for de-watering the creek This allows our crews to work safely within the live stormwater asset. See latest newsletter (March 2023) for more information.

    Public Access

For safety reasons, Whiteoak Reserve will be fenced off and closed to the public for the duration of the project. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Additionally, other areas may be fenced off to maintain a safe work zone as we progress down the creek.

    Construction Impacts

The first thing we need to do is remove the old concrete form within the channel. While we do this, you will notice intermittent noise and vibration as we jack hammer.

We will make every effort to minimise the impact of this work on the community.

Work will move along the Creek from Bestic Street to West Botany Street. As work activities move, you will notice a reduction in noise from Whiteoak Reserve.

    Traffic Management

There will be an increase in work vehicles and truck movements in the area during our work.

To minimise impact on local streets, we will use Bestic Street as our main vehicle entry / exit and staff parking. As work progresses, the entrance form Francis Avenue will be used to safely deliver materials and equipment to the work area.

Traffic control and signage will be in place to guide pedestrians and vehicles safely around our work site.

    Tree trimming and removal

Some tree removal and trimming is needed for us to naturalise the banks and allow for truck movements within the compound.

    Will the playground be removed?

We will be removing the existing playground and small Council building in Whiteoak Reserve.

There will be a new seating area overlooking the creek and plenty of natural play space for people of all ages to enjoy.
