Our two new digesters are now complete!

We recently completed an important milestone for our Biosolids upgrade project – construction of our two new digesters is now finished!

Standing over 14 metres high, our work to build the two new digesters involved pouring over 1,300 cubic metres of concrete in ten stages. This was done over eight months between August 2022 and March 2023.

The two new digesters will increase the processing capacity of the facility from 40 tonnes to 70 tonnes of sludge per day by 2043 and contribute to reusing 100% of biosolids created as fertiliser on farms in NSW.

Our next steps are to install new fittings and equipment to support the two new digesters as well as completing some tests and checks to get them ready for use.
