Thornleigh pipeline duplication - Investigation works

Sydney Water is working with our Delivery Partner, Iron Bark Joint Venture, to deliver this project.

To help us plan these upgrades, we need to carry out investigation works in the area from Monday 16 December 2024 and expect the investigations to take one week to finish, weather permitting. Our working hours are Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm, and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.

Work will take place within Sydney Water’s grounds at Thornleigh Reservoir on Quarter Sessions Road, Westleigh and will involve site surveying, service locating, drilling boreholes, soil sampling, and groundwater assessments.

There will be some noise and dust from the digging and machinery on site but we will make every effort to reduce the impact this work may have on you.

After our investigation work, we will finalise our designs for the new infrastructure.

Review of Environmental Factors (REF) Decision Report

Last year, we consulted on the REF and gained valuable feedback from the community on the project. A Decision Report for the REF will be published early next year, which details the feedback we received and our response. We will send out notification when this is available to view and download online.
