Lowes Creek project update

Our project team at Sydney Water is starting the early design for the wastewater pipeline route for the Lowes Creek project. To help inform the early design we will be completing site walks to assess and evaluate ground condition. It will also help us identify any potential issue or concerns that may impact the proposed infrastructure, environment and community. At the end of the early design stage the team will develop a preferred option and prepare preliminary designs.

During the site walk investigation, the following information may be gathered:

  • Evaluate area condition- carefully observe and evaluate the overall condition of the area including landscape, structures, creek banks, roads and other important infrastructure that may be present. This will help us understand the current state of the area and identify potential issues or concerns.

  • Assess ground condition- our team will assess the surrounding ground condition to better understand the stability and suitability of the terrain. This involves evaluating soil condition/type, drainage, and other potential challenges that may need to be addressed.

  • Terrain evaluation- we will assess the terrain to gather information on its topography, slope and natural features that may impact the project.

At this stage we do not expect that we will need to access your property. If we do need access, we will contact you over the couple of few weeks. The site walk inspections will be done through February 2024. To understand where our Lowes Creek project is located, please refer to the Upper South Creek Networks Program Catchment map above.
