Cecil Hills - project update, Cecil Hills Pumping Station

As part of ProMac, we are building a new water pumping station at the Liverpool Reservoir facility in Cecil Hills.

Since our April newsletter update, we have completed pre-commissioning activities for the pumping station. This involved testing of pumps, fans and motors inside the pumping station, as well as pressure testing and disinfection of the newly installed pipe work.

Upcoming work

We are now ready to start commissioning activities to bring the new facility into operation. This work will be completed over 12 weeks from Monday 8 May 2023.

This work will involve:

  • disinfecting and flushing pipework at the new pumping station facility
  • connecting the new pumping station to the live Sydney Water network
  • pumping water from the new Cecil Hills pumping station to the Bonnyrigg and Cecil Park Reservoirs intermittently throughout the day.

Once the facility is operational, the pumps will facilitate water flow day and night, intermittently. The pumping station is lined with sound absorbing material and when commissioning is complete, a door will be installed on the pumping station to further minimise operational noise.

What you need to know

There will be no interruptions to your water services while we complete this work. All work associated with the new reservoir, pumping station and pipework will not affect the supply of water pressure to your property.
