Cecil Hills - Liverpool Reservoir commissioning works update

Sydney Water is working to expand our network to meet increased demands from growth in South West Sydney. To do this, we are building a new water reservoir within the Liverpool Reservoir site in Cecil Hills.

Upcoming work

We previously advised that commissioning works for the new water reservoir would occur prior to Christmas. This work will now take place from Monday 17 January 2022. This will involve filling the tank with 60 ML of water and will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. Filling of the tank will occur 24 hours a day and will be closely monitored during this time by workers conducting surveys.

From Monday 17 January until Saturday 5 February 2022, workers will be monitoring the new reservoir 24 hours a day.

What you need to know

This work is not expected to be noisy however you may notice workers within the

Liverpool Reservoir site, monitoring the tank and conducting surveys. Workers will monitor around the tank from the ground as well as from the roof of the tank. Flashlights will be used at night and will be directed away from properties. This work will not affect your water services.

Location of work

The health and wellbeing of Sydney Water crews are our top priority. All crews are adhering to testing, social distancing, and mask wearing requirements.
