Currans Hill - construction of new reservoir to commence Monday 23 January 2023

We dismantled the existing reservoir between March and May 2022. We plan to start establishing site facilities to support construction of the new reservoir in the week commencing Monday 23 January 2023, weather permitting.

This work will involve:

• establishing a site office
• using elevated work platforms to build the new tank in sections
• transport of components and oversized vehicles including cranes
• lifting sections of panels with the use of a crane
• grinding, cutting of steel and hammering steel panels into place.

Construction traffic and impacts

Trucks will continue to use the route approved by Camden Council, via Turner Road into Ascot Drive and Manooka Road. Heavy vehicles will infrequently transport large deliveries of steel into the site, outside of peak hours.

Most workers will park within the Sydney Water site, with about 10-12 people on site at a time. Some visitors to site may occasionally park in nearby streets.
