Currans Hill - one oversized delivery to temporarily impact parking along Turner Road, Ascot Drive and Manooka Road

We are continuing with blasting and painting of the new reservoir and are ready to install the roof. The roof sheeting will be transported in a single delivery on the back of a specialised 28 metre truck, capable of carrying roof sheets 21 metres in length.
The delivery will occur on the morning of Tuesday 5 September 2023. Due to travel restrictions on oversized transportations, the delivery will occur at any point between 4:00am and 7:00am. The truck will park on site with the delivery until the items are ready to be unloaded during standard construction hours. The truck’s trailer will fold to a reduced size before demobilising from site on the same morning.
This work will involve:
- mobilising a large 28m truck through Currans Hills outside of standard work hours
- using traffic control and a light vehicle escort along the heavy vehicle route (map overleaf)
- placing signage and traffic cones to distinguish ‘no parking’ zones at pinch points along the heavy vehicle route in Currans Hill. Signage and cones will be placed the afternoon prior to delivery
- door knocking properties impacted by temporary parking restrictions prior to the delivery day
- reducing the size of the truck trailer prior to demobilising.
Construction traffic and impacts
There will be no road closures however delays are expected along the heavy vehicle route while the delivery is safely escorted around narrow turns. To minimise disruption to the community, we recommend avoiding this route next week between the designated delivery hours.
Temporary ‘no parking’ signs will be positioned on the afternoon prior to delivery. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to follow all project signage and traffic control directions.
Heavy vehicles will continue to use the route approved by Camden Council, via Turner Road, Ascot Drive and Manooka Road.
Our standard work hours
- 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday
- 8 am to 1 pm Saturday (we are currently working extended Saturday hours until 5:00 pm for the duration of blasting and painting)
- We will not work on Sundays or Public Holidays.
