Harrington Park - night work at Harrington Park Pump Station

Sydney Water are building a new water pumping station on The Northern Road in Harrington Park, to provide drinking water services for 84,000 new homes in the South West Growth Area and Western Sydney Aerotropolis Growth Area.

As part of this work, we need to carry out several watermain connections over the coming months. We will work in stages to disconnect and remove the existing water main within different areas of the pumping station. Once removed, there will be new pipework installed to accommodate the new pump station. This connection work will be carried out over a 72-hour period. Your wastewater or water services will not be impacted by these shutdowns.

The location of work for the first two stages will be at the front of our site compound near The Northern Road (please see map overleaf for the location of work). You may also notice some machinery and work vehicles moving around the site during the work.

Stage 1 connection

The first connection will commence at 6 pm on Tuesday 17 May to 7 am Friday 20 May 2022, weather permitting.

Stage 2 connection

The second connection will commence at 6 pm on Tuesday 31 May to 7 am Friday 3 June 2022, weather permitting.

We will notify you again when we are ready to complete stages 3 and 4 of the connection works.

These works are in addition to our standard working hours.

Standard work hours

• 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday

• 8 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.

Construction activities include saw cutting, welding, lifting pipes / fittings and excavation activities. There will be trucks and other construction equipment with reversing beepers working in the area. We’ll try to do the noisiest work early in the night, but there’ll be some noise after midnight at times.

Traffic changes

As we complete this work, a section of the footpath along The Northern Road has been temporarily reduced to one lane. The changed pedestrian conditions will remain in place for the duration of the work.

Location of work

The health and wellbeing of Sydney Water crews are our top priority. All crews are adhering to testing, social distancing, and mask wearing requirements.

Members of the public can rest easy knowing that Sydney Water's front line crews are authorised to work safely to continue delivering these essential services for their communities.

We know our work can be disruptive, so we’ll make every effort to reduce any impact this work may have on you. Thank you for your cooperation during this essential work.
