Sydney Water is investigating wastewater (sewage) overflows and wastewater drainage issues reported at some properties. We need to understand the extent of the problem and are asking people to complete a short survey on the wastewater performance within their properties.

Wastewater overflows can happen inside the home when wastewater backs up into your bathroom, laundry or kitchen. Outside, wastewater overflows occur at gully traps, maintenance holes or inspection openings, either on or near your property. Poor wastewater drainage from sinks, showers and toilets can indicate that there is potential for wastewater overflows if issues are left unaddressed.

By completing this survey, you will assist Sydney Water in understanding where there are wastewater issues, allowing us to target investigations to where the wastewater system can be improved. We would appreciate your response, even if you are not experiencing any issues with your wastewater service. The survey will take one to five minutes to complete.

Thank you to everyone who has provided information during the survey period. Our planning teams are now working with the information to get an understanding of the issues in the area, and will be determining what works should be completed in the area.
