Feedback from earlier engagement

In June 2021, we asked the community for ideas and suggestions for upgrading Deakin Park in Silverwater. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. This feedback was used to develop the draft Landscape Plan for the park and the preliminary concept design for the waterway health improvement feature.

We received 53 responses to the community survey. Most of the responses were from residents who reside in Silverwater and visit Deakin Park at least weekly.

Out of the 53 Respondents who provided feedback, there was strong support for:

• A range of environmental initiatives and improvements
• Shade cover
• Additional seating and picnic areas
• Additional trees and plantings
• Improved dog facilities
• Improved pedestrian connections in and around the park
