Ground investigations - Abuklea Road and Anzac Avenue - January 2025

We’re doing investigation work to improve access to drinking water in the area.

This is not just about pipes. It’s about water – clean, life sustaining water. Our work will ensure we can continue to give you clean and reliable water as the area continues to grow.

What do I need to know?

We are considering reinstating the Ryde-Pymble trunk main, a drinking water pipeline that runs from Ryde Pump Station on Victoria Road to The Wahroonga Reservoir Site on Roland Avenue.

As part of our planning and design work, we need to do some investigation work to assess the ground conditions. The investigation work will include concrete cutting and excavation works.

Your water services won’t be impacted during this work.

Timing of investigations

Our investigations will take place from 20 January 2025 for four weeks, weather permitting. The work will take place during standard hours (7am – 6pm).

Once we’ve finished our investigations, we may return for further surveys. We’ll write to you again to let you know before we start.

How will this work impact me?

We will be carrying out investigations on the following roads:

  • Abuklea Road
  • Anzac Avenue.

Traffic and parking changes

For the safety of our workers and the community, there will be partial lane closures where we are doing investigations, and we may need to use some parking spaces. We’ll have signage in place to let you know where changes apply, and our traffic controllers will help keep traffic flowing around our work area while keeping you safe.

Noise

There will be some noise from our equipment and machinery during the investigation work. We will minimise vehicle movements and avoid unnecessary loud noises where possible.

Where do I get more information?

We are always here to keep you updated and discuss any concerns you may have. To find out more, please contact the team at rydepymblepipeline@sydneywater.com.au or 1800 112 480.
