What is water science online?
Water science online gives you great ideas, learning tools and resources to explore how we apply real world science to manage water.
Choose from three Stage 4 Science investigations:
1. Water science – Drinking Water - explore the water cycle, sources of water and how water gets to our home. Students learn how we use water filtration to protect public health.
Use our resources listed on this page such as our water taste test activity or our water audit.
2. Water science – Wastewater - explore separation techniques used in treating wastewater. Students learn how scientific skills are used to recycle water and protect the environment.

3. Water science – Water and Life - explore water in everyday life with care and value. Students understand we can all contribute to sustainable environments and make a liveable and resilience cities.

Sydney Water filters your drinking water every day, so you don’t have to! Using random stuff around the classroom, try this experiment and work out what makes a good filter.

Make a pH indicator experiment
Sydney Water scientists do up to 70 different tests to make sure your water is great. One of these tests is a pH test which measures the acidity of water. Why not try this experiment using red cabbage as a natural pH indicator and test items around you home. Find out what’s acidic, basic or neutral.
