Prospect South to Macarthur (ProMac)

We are building a new drinking water pipeline from Range Road to Western Road via Cross Street to provide drinking water services for 84,000 new homes in the South West Growth Area and Western Sydney Aerotropolis Growth Area.

Construction of the new pipeline will commence at the eastern end of Cross Street working towards Western Road from Monday 18 January 2021 and will take around four months to complete.

We are building:

• 1.6km of pipework from Range Road to Cross Street

• 1.9km of pipework from Cross Street to Western Road

• 410m of pipework along Range Road to connect with Elizabeth Drive

• 590m of pipework connecting to Elizabeth Drive

We are building a new drinking water pipeline through Western Sydney Parklands at Cecil Park, to provide drinking water services for 84,000 new homes in the South West Growth Area and Western Sydney Aerotropolis Growth Area.

We will set up our site facilities and start investigating and surveying the area from Monday 18 January 2021, with construction planned to finish in November 2021, weather permitting.

A section of the new drinking water pipeline is also being built in Western Sydney Parklands. This means the footbridge crossing the M7 in Cecil Hills and some walking tracks will be temporarily closed, and diversions will be put in place from 11 February until November 2021.The map outlines the track closures and diversions. Do not attempt to cross or access a closed path and always follow signage and directions.

Stage 1 of the construction of a new drinking water pipeline to connect the Cecil Hills Reservoir to the Liverpool Reservoir will begin on Monday 4 January 2021 and will continue until the end of February 2021

To fast-track stage 1 of the pipeline’s construction past Cecil Hills Public School, our work hours for this stage are 7 am to 6 pm, Monday to Sunday. We will not work on public holidays.

Two construction compounds will be established next to Cecil Hills Public School. These will be securely fenced and accessed via Leopold Place.

There will be an increase in construction traffic around Cecil Hills during our work. Vehicle access to Prince Close will be restricted from Monday 4 January 2021 until end February 2021. Pedestrian access along Prince Close will be maintained throughout construction, but parking in the surrounds may be limited.

Traffic control and signage will be in place to guide pedestrians and vehicles safely around our work sites. Please take care when driving or walking in the area.

Work on the ProMac Link began ahead of schedule with the first piece of the 15km long pipeline going into the ground.

Our deliver contractors are building 750 meter of pipeline along the boundaries of Western Sydney Parklands and Sydney International Shooting Centre.

The Shooting Centre remains open for its visitors, but the overflow carpark will be closed, and there will be increased construction vehicle traffic on site and on Range Rd.

The Mountain Bike Track 'Wylde Park' will still be open, but some parts of the trail will be closed during construction to ensure safety of the community. For the latest updates on the track closure, please visit Western Sydney Parkland Wylde website

As part of ProMac we’re upgrading existing drinking water infrastructure at the Liverpool and Cecil Park reservoir sites. A new reservoir tank and water pumping station will be added to the site at Liverpool, with a new pipeline connecting the two reservoirs. These upgrades will provide resilience to the local community by

The proposed route of the pipeline between Liverpool and Cecil Park follows existing roads and public reserve land. To help in the development of our designs, we’re completing geotechnical and survey site investigations in the area. Some private landowners will be contacted to allow us to investigate existing stormwater drains and sewer maintenance holes on their property to allow our design to accommodate these existing services.

We’ve started constructing the new Liverpool reservoir with our contractors preparing the site for the new water tank. We’re finishing the design of the underground pipeline in discussion with the needs of Liverpool City Council, Western Sydney Parklands, Westlink M7 and Transport for NSW.

Construction of the Liverpool reservoir to Cecil Park reservoir pipeline is expected to start in December 2020.
